Graduation Party Bartending in Tampa: Keep It Fun and Keep It Legal

May and June in Tampa mean backyard graduation parties with grandparents, neighbors, and a swarm of 18-year-olds in the same space. A licensed bartender is the easiest way to give the adults a real bar while keeping the party on the right side of the law.

Why licensed matters at a graduation party

Serving alcohol to anyone under 21 is a crime in Florida, and the host carries the risk. BigCee Exotic BarLuxe is licensed and watches the bar for the whole event. She checks who she is serving, keeps a mocktail menu going for the graduates and their friends, and can pace, limit, or refuse service to any guest who has had enough. A self-serve cooler cannot do any of that.

Two menus, one bar

• For adults: two or three signature cocktails plus beer and wine
• For graduates and younger guests: sparkling mocktails in school colors, served in the same glassware with the same garnish
• For everyone: water and a non-alcoholic punch on the bar all day

Sizing the package

Count every guest, not just the drinkers, because the package is set by headcount. A typical graduation party with 60 to 75 people is the Gold package at $475 for 6 hours. Up to 100 guests is Platinum at $650. Both include the bartender, the styled mobile bar, setup and breakdown, premium mixers, ice, garnishes, cups, napkins, and straws. You supply the alcohol.

Planning tips for a big backyard crowd

• Put the bar in shade and away from the pool
• Give the bar a clear 6 by 4 foot spot with room for a line
• Have all alcohol ready by 7:30 PM the day before the party
• Book extra hours up front at $50 per hour if the party will run long
• Book at least 48 hours ahead. Graduation weekends fill early.
